Fastrack Computing in the News

First Virtual IT Store of North India to be launched on 19th January 2007

Chandigarh, 12th January, 2007
Leading laptops and mobile computing solutions provider of the region, Fastrack Computing, in association with S J Edutech P Limited is launching a complete IT solutions e-commerce enabled portal on Friday, 19th of January 2007 in Chandigarh.

The web-portal, at www.fastrackcomputing.com will be a fully featured online virtual store for all kinds of IT products with specific focus on mobile computing products. To launch-off, a complete range of laptops, notebooks, tablets PCs, PDAs and desktops are will be available on the virtual mart. A separated virtual store for upgradation possibilities, laptop hardware, accessories and peripherals is also being setup within the portal. Fastrack Computing are the direct country partners for world’s top laptop brands – Fujitsu, Toshiba, HP, Acer, Compaq and HCL and others.

“The web-portal’s payment system has been developed using 128-bit SSL encryption, which is so-far the highest secure encryption standard available. While most payment gateways run on 16 or 32-bit encryption, the proposed system will allow users to confidently order products online. Payments for purchases can also be made through Paypal, Credit Card or Cash on Delivery,” informed Er. Akhil Verma, CEO of S J Edutech P Limited. “This would be a very different kind of virtual store and first of its kind in India. Though there are many sites in developed nations which are providing similar services, actual grass-root level e-commerce is yet to catch up in India. We will be using our own developed technology index – called ‘SPAC Index’ (Satisfaction in Process Adherence for the Customer) in which 7 different parameters for customer-requirements have been taken into account. Currently, the lack of confidence while making purchases through credit card, etc. is a major reason behind the failure of e-commerce in India. We have seen e-commerce companies like come with a bang and fade out in the recent past, and the reason was lack of proper customer handling and vanishing customer confidence. In our system, we are offering state-of-the-art standardized sealed products from world leaders like Toshiba to our customers which would be backed by a very solid online and offline support system, which is already being implemented. Fastrack Computing has already appointed a dedicated engineers’ team trained by Fujitsu, Japan and Toshiba, Japan for implementing the technical support system. A special first of its kind ticket based system, in which the average response time has been guaranteed as just 100 minutes, has been setup. The system automatically notifies the customer through e-mail as well as SMS about the status of his support-ticket,” Verma added.

Another unique section is the ‘Practical Laptop Chooser’ section of the web-portal where customers are guided through by the system to choose the best laptop suiting their requirements and pockets. Separate individuals have separate requirements and as such different categories based on laptop use have been created – like a graphics and multimedia designer, a student or research scholar, a corporate professional, a business traveler, a gamer and someone looking for a budget laptop, etc. Based on these requirements, the system also suggests the various models available in the market which match one’s requirements. The customer can thus choose the laptop from the virtual store and make a wise purchase right-away at the lowest rates possible.

The virtual store consists of product portfolios of all major laptop brands where customers can see detailed specifications, company information, MRP / Offer Prices and can even zoom-in to see the product slideshow online. Separate sections for careers and jobs, events and news and a dedicated laptop upgradation center are being setup virtually.

According to Mr. Iqbal Singh, MD, the virtual stores would be providing laptops at lowest-most possible bulk-purchase rates since the process would eliminate middle-men and the entire benefit will be passed-on to the customers. “We shall be offering laptops at unbelievable prices with many top-brand models even in the sub – Rs. 30,000/- category. The prices of these models like Toshiba Satellite L30 have been slashed by more than Rs. 10,000/- and an online purchases will also entitle a Free Printer to the customers. Customer is the king in this competitive era. As for us, selling products using this concept eliminates the bulk of our showroom, warehousing, display, electricity, staff and other costs; in addition, we have tie-ups with direct international manufacturers; so we will be able to provide the products at such low rates,” he laments.

“Ultimately the future for all of us is online; especially in IT related products and services. Those who do not shift over to this system will be automatically eliminated by the wise, aware and demanding customer of today,” said Verma.
